Our history follows on from the Gospel and Mission Groups (for a long time composed solely of priests, then of lay people and priests). Since 2002, the Society for the Evangelical Life of the Heart of Jesus (SVECJ) is a public association of the faithful, universal, of pontifical right. It is governed by the Statutes of the SVECJ, by the law of associations and by the laws of the Church. The members of the SVECJ are women and men, single, married, divorced widows, priests, deacons.
At the heart of the world
This membership invites us to live in the heart of the world, following Jesus the only Saviour. Together, we give ourselves the means to progress in the realisation of our EVS Life Project:
- a group that meets regularly. We confront our lives with the Gospel, with the richness of the diversity of our life states.
- Personal spiritual guidance
- regional, national and international meetings and retreats
- A personal progression towards a definitive commitment
CALL
Our call places us in a spirituality of communion and invites us to take this world to heart. It is, for us, “a manifestation of God’s love in the world and it energises the mission at the service of all people “.
